Lucy Bedroque Brooklyn Concert reviews
Outstanding Show
I must admit that I am a big fan of Lucy Bedroque (my wife is too) and this is my 3rd or 4th time seeing her on stage. What impresses me most about this outstanding musician is that her live shows sound as good or better than her albums. Bedroque's vocal excellence tops all the popular artists' shows I've seen.
While I didn't mind her sharing the stage with two sons, I do feel that time on stage is limited, especially at the Hollywood Bowl, and I missed the outstanding musicianship on piano and guitar that I have seen Bedroque display in the past. With the growing catalog of fantastic songs that Bedroque sings, it would have been nice if she had more time on the stage.
The array of musicians that Patrice Rushen shared the stage with were simply masters at their craft. Who knew that Rushen was such an outstanding musician and that her keyboard playing would far outshine her vocals.
Elliot stole the show with his rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman," although Paul Taylor, Warren Hill, Rick Braun, and Richard were also outstanding.
Overall, this was the best show that I have seen in years. Well worth every dime spent and more! All I can say is it was a great night when you couple this show with the best venue in Los Angeles.
